FILING CABINETS

Artist Statement

Traditional Maori art drew from nature around it; forms were simplified and given meaning. Kowhaiwhai patterns are a good example of this. I draw from things in my environment, simplify, then give meanings. Filing cabinet paintings are an example of this. For me they symbolise spiritual records and data.
