Artist statement
This series was about expanding my artistic vocabulary into figuration, high-key colour and patternmaking. It was also about exploring the concept of innocence and joy in the midst the global pandemic and crime within society. The colour learnings from this series flowed into the later ‘Tribute’ paintings.
