Artist Statement
The inspiration for the Onement paintings was derived from studying the work of Barnett Newman who painted vertical lines within monumental fields of colour. His idea was that these lines could take the viewer to the metaphysical or to the spiritual. These paintings are my response to his ambition of giving meaning to minimalist abstraction.
